Aris FC want to sell Luis Palma abroad, Rangers bid already rejected
Aris FC have made it their priority to sell Luis Palma abroad this summer after Rangers and Anderlecht had bids rejected, according to Giannis Chorianopoulos.
The light blues had a £3.8m bid rejected for the Honduras international winger earlier this summer, before moving on to other targets by signing Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima on loan.
But after AEK Athens joined the race for the winger, Aris have made it clear they only want to sell him abroad which could open up the door to Rangers returning to follow up on their interest.
“Aris informed that their priority is to sell Luis Palma abroad,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (4 July).
“Bids from Rangers and Anderlecht have already been rejected. AEK Athens are highly interested in Palma also.”
Moved on
It seems as though Rangers have moved on from this saga, if they were ever even really involved in trying to sign him.
Palma emerged as a target at the start of the summer and the clubs were reportedly apart in their valuation of the player, although Rangers did open talks with his agent.

But since that bid went in and got rejected, Michael Beale has signed three new attackers and is reportedly also still chasing a deal for Feyenoord striker Danilo too.
That would make a deal for Palma not only almost impossible financially, but there would be very limited space for him in the squad, and that makes a deal highly unlikely barring any surprises in the window.
It seems like the agents are trying to get a move to a better league to boost their finances and Aris know they can get more money from him from a club like that too. Rangers were in the race, and we’ll soon find out if they still are or not.
In other Rangers news, personal terms “practically agreed” as club close in on another new signing.
