Rangers transfer news as Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers emerge on watchlist
Rangers have run checks on Serie A strikers Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers as they weigh up their summer transfer options, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
The Gers are looking for attacking reinforcements in the upcoming window after confirming that Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos would be leaving Ibrox on free transfers at the end of the season.
Dessers, 28, has amassed eight goal contributions from 26 league appearances for Cremonese this term, while Dammers, 26, runs out of contract at Sampdoria this June and is available for Michael Beale’s side on a free transfer.

“Sportsmail understands Atalanta-owned Lammers and Cremonese forward Dessers are tow further names on a list of possibilities given consideration,” the Scottish Daily Mail wrote. [Monday 29 May, back page]

Reinforcements needed
Once Morelos and Kent leave the club, the attacking options within the Gers’ first-team squad look scarce and thinly spread.
The likes of Todd Cantwell and Malik Tillman can always be pushed forward into more attacking areas, and Fashion Sakala played through the middle, but none of these are ideal options for the club in the long run.
Both Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak have also proven themselves highly susceptible to injuries this term, and neither looks like a full-time Rangers number nine in the making.
Looking towards the Serie A for alternate attacking options, therefore, makes a lot of sense.
This is a market that is far less exposed than the Premier League and the EFL but is still ripe with quality, so either one of Lammers or Dessers could still be within Rangers’ transfer budget.
Dessers has been in good form for Cremonese, however, he may be the harder of the two strikers to lure to Ibrox, considering his contract doesn’t expire until June 2027.
In other Rangers news, the club wants to sign this international striker who will cost millions, with two other signings close, according to this report.
