Rangers want to sign Ike Ugbo as £3.5m transfer development emerges at Troyes, two other signings close
Rangers have turned their attention towards signing Troyes striker Ike Ugbo but will face competition from Burnley, according to the Scottish Sun.
The newspaper reported on Thursday night (25 May) that Michael Beale knows the 24-year-old having worked together at Chelsea and the Gers manager now wants to bring the centre-forward to Ibrox.
It is understood that Troyes want £3.5million for the London-born Canada international, who only joined them on a permanent basis from Genk last summer.
Rangers have already confirmed they’ll be signing Kieran Dowell on a free transfer from Norwich this summer and the Scottish Sun also reports that Jack Butland and Dujon Sterling are also close to agreeing terms to head to Ibrox.
Ridiculous
Beale is taking a leaf out of Ross Wilson’s book here by doing lazy recruitment work and only going for players that he’s previously worked with.

That would be fine if the players were top-class and playing well but Ugbo is a striker who’s scored just two goals in Ligue 1 for Troyes this season.
He’s played 23 times in the league since his permanent move to the already-relegated Ligue 1 side and only started seven of those games.
The ex-Genk striker scored in draws against Rennes and Monaco but his overall contribution in France this season has been minimal.
How Troyes expect to get millions for their striker is laughable.
Rangers need to give this one a wide berth. There are better options out there for less money if someone at the club could be bothered to do any kind of in-depth scouting.
