Dujon Sterling next in line for Rangers parade after Kieran Dowell transfer at Ibrox
Dujon Sterling is the next player in line for a Rangers parade after the signing of Kieran Dowell at Ibrox earlier this month, according to Football Scotland.
The Gers confirmed (24 May) that former Norwich City defender Dowell would be Michael Beale’s first transfer of the summer, signing a pre-contract agreement on a three-year deal that will become active on 1 July.
The Athletic previously reported (11 May) that Sterling, 23, had agreed a deal in principle to join Rangers on a free transfer from Chelsea, and the right-back is now set to be “paraded” as the club’s next transfer.

The Chelsea academy graduate’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires this summer, and he is set to sign a long-term deal with the Gers after spending the year out on loan with Stoke City.

Competition for places
Michael Beale and the club are moving quickly and they must be commended for beating the pack to both Dowell and Sterling.
The 23-year-old has already gained a wealth of experience at a young age, having spent time out on loan at Coventry City, Blackpool and the Potters over the last few seasons, and he looks to be a fantastic piece of business on a free transfer.
Although Sterling will find it hard to displace James Tavernier as the first-team right-back next season, having such competition is no bad thing whatsoever moving forward.
At times this campaign, the Rangers captain hasn’t been at his fluent best, so hopefully, having a young and hungry alternative chomping at the bit will push both players onto new heights.
Considering the window hasn’t even opened yet, and Rangers are on the verge of completing a second transfer, Beale looks like he means business this summer.
In other Rangers news, the club wants to sign this international striker who will cost millions, with two other signings close, according to this report.
