BBC Sportscene pundit raves about ‘magic’ Fashion Sakala after Rangers footage v St Mirren
BBC Sportscene pundit Neil McCann was left raving about “magic” Rangers forward Fashion Sakala after his two-goal heroics in the 3-0 win over St Mirren on Saturday [27 May].
The Zambian scored a terrific double at St Mirren Park to ensure Michael Beale and his side ended the Scottish Premiership campaign on a high.
The Light Blues forward scored either side of halftime to set Rangers on their way to a final three points of the season, cutting in from the left-hand side both times to find the net.

And reacting to footage of Sakala’s second after half-time on BBC Sportscene [28 May, 51m:04secs], McCann could not hide his awe of the Zambian’s directness.
He said: “This is magic.
“Just committing people, seeing a little gap, going through again, I don’t think the goalkeeper covers himself in glory there but it’s just the pure intention to go and commit something and to create something for himself.”
Ryan Kent who?
It was yet another showstopping display from the Zambian as he proved he is certainly capable of replacing Kent and Morelos’ quality, scoring his 11th and 12th goals in what’s been a truly remarkable and coming-of-age season.
Rangers will indeed be undergoing a stark rebuild this summer, but Sakala has certainly shown Beale and the whole of Ibrox why he will once again become a key performer in the Rangers team for the long haul.

His direct running, pace, unpredictability in the final third and ability to commit defenders in order to create space for himself and his teammates is truly something special, and simply cannot be taken for granted at Rangers.
Saturday’s game will have provided Beale with the final opportunity to analyse his squad and pick out which players he can rely upon for the foreseeable and in Sakala and Cantwell – who dominated proceedings against their Old Firm rivals – Rangers possess two players perfectly capable of singlehandedly aiding their quest to topple the Hoops for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
Who needs Kent and Morelos?
In other Rangers news, the club wants to sign this international striker who will cost millions, with two other signings close, according to this report.
