Rangers have held meetings with players for summer transfers, Michael Beale shares timeline for deals

Michael Beale has revealed that he has held meetings with potential Rangers transfers between games recently and wants deals done before pre-season.

Gers have already completed the signing of Kieran Dowell on a free transfer and it’s expected that Jack Butland and Dujon Sterling will follow on similar deals, while Jose Cifuentes and Luis Palma are targets too.

And while the manager didn’t confirm any deals were close, he did reveal he had been busy meeting players in between fixtures recently as he wants transfers to be done as soon as possible.

“I’ve been away meeting players in between games, we may need to be patient with one or two but we will act quickly before pre-season,” he said, as quoted by the official Rangers Twitter account (26 May).

“We want players to come in and be key players.”

With the season ending pretty much as soon as we lost to Celtic in the semi-final of the cup, it’s good to know that the club have been working behind the scenes.

It’s obvious that Beale wants a lot of things to change this summer before the new season starts and that means work had to take place quickly during the off-season.

Obviously there have been plenty of links to players which shows the club are working, but for Beale to admit that he has met with players face to face to get deals over the line means things are moving quicker than many people have probably been anticipating.

The players will return from their holidays at some point in the summer and they will have to be prepared to fight for their shirts once again and make a big impression on Beale.

Everything starts from zero from next season, and it seems likely that there will be big changes at Ibrox if everything goes to plan.
