Michael Beale shares recovery timeline for Rangers star Tom Lawrence for new season
Michael Beale has revealed that he expects Tom Lawrence to join up with Rangers a few weeks into pre-season after his long-term injury.
Lawrence joined on a free transfer last summer and established himself as a regular in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side before an injury ruled him out since August.
But speaking to the Daily Record (17 May), Beale has admitted he is looking forward to having the Wales international available during pre-season but admitted he will have a lot of catching up to do when he returns after being out for so long.

“I expect him to be back probably a couple of weeks into pre-season,” he said.
“Either at the same time as everybody else or a couple of weeks behind.
“But having said that he needs to make up maybe eight or 10 months.”
Impact
Lawrence had a terrific impact on the squad when he arrived last summer and was really finding his feet at Ibrox before injury struck.
The full details of his problem were never revealed and he suffered a major setback when nearing a return at the turn of the year, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

As Beale looks to completely replenish and bolster the squad ahead of the new season, Lawrence’s future could have been questioned because of his lack of involvement.
But Beale has set the expectation that he will be at the club next year and be part of the squad, with a chance to impress and shine for the rest of the young squad to learn from him.
It’s positive news and if he can have the impact of a new signing in those attacking positions again like he did last year, then he could end up saving the club money for that position that they can spend elsewhere.
In other Rangers news, a fresh update has emerged from the Daily Record about the pursuit of one player this summer.
