Malik Tillman shares Rangers permanent transfer update, agent has spoken to Bayern Munich

Malik Tillman says his agent spoke to Bayern Munich a lot throughout his loan spell at Rangers.

Tillman has returned to his permanent club having spent the season at Ibrox, where he won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year for his displays in blue.

The 20-year-old picked up 12 goals and five assists for the Gers before his season was cut short with a hamstring injury, with a £5million option to turn the move permanent.

“At the beginning of the season, their direct contact with me was more than it is now, but my agent spoke to them a lot and they watch many games,” said Tillman, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“They see what I have improved and they are quite happy.”

The uncertain future over Tillman looks set to continue for many weeks to come, with nobody sure of where the youngster will be playing his football next season.

One thing that is certain is that, if he does make a permanent switch to Ibrox, his reported £5million fee will be talked about a lot in the early stages of next season, particularly if he fails to hit the ground running.

Despite impressing at Ibrox, it seems very unlikely that Tillman will be a regular figure under Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich next season, given just how many talented attackers there are at the club.

He could, of course, be a regular from the bench, but the youngster should be wanting to get as much game time as possible at this important stage of his career.

The USA international would definitely be in that scenario under Michael Beale at Rangers, with fans already taking the 20-year-old to their hearts in his brief time in Glasgow.

In other Rangers news, Kris Boyd has picked four Gers stars in his SPFL Premiership team of the week.
