Rangers fate of Robby McCrorie in hands of Michael Beale, it is now or never – Chris Jack
Robby McCrorie’s fate at Rangers beyond the end of this season rests in the hands of Michael Beale, according to Chris Jack.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper made his first start of the season last weekend as he kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win against Aberdeen.
Jack, writing for Herald Scotland, shared that it is a case of now or never for McCrorie at his boyhood club, with both Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin expected to leave Ibrox this summer and Beale ready to initiate a major overhaul of his squad.

“He has put in the hard yards in the lower leagues and been patient under the guidance of a succession of managers,” he wrote.
“His fate in now in Michael Beale’s hands.”

Time to step up
After an impressive and commanding performance in between the sticks for Rangers last weekend, it remains to be seen whether McCrorie will be given the opportunity to make a claim for the number one jersey with a run of games until the end of the season.
Whether the Rangers youth product remains at Ibrox into next year will likely depend on the reported interest in Jack Butland and whether the club can get that deal over the line.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this week (8 May) that Rangers face complications in their quest to sign the Manchester United loanee this summer, with both the Red Devils and Crystal Palace having options to keep hold of the goalkeeper.
If the 30-year-old doesn’t seal his move to Ibrox, the door is certainly ajar for McCrorie to barge through.
The coming weeks could be the most pivotal in the goalkeeper’s career. He is being given the stage to audition on by Beale and now is his time to step up and deliver the goods.
In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has stated that one player has been a standout for the Gers in an otherwise disappointing season.
