Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos slammed for not being ‘fully interested’ as Michael Beale claim made

Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos is not “fully interested” ahead of a likely summer exit for the striker, according to journalist John Greechan.

Morelos looks set to depart Ibrox at the end of the season, with the Colombian’s contract expiring later this month.

His disappointing exit comes despite the striker hitting double figures for goals this season.

“Beale’s attacking intent is built around many moving parts,” Greechan wrote for the Daily Record. “The next player entrusted with leading the line for Rangers, then, will have to be a link man capable of dropping short, a runner of channels willing to wander.

“Someone able to engage or even enrage his markers, constantly inviting defenders to choose between either being dragged out of their comfort zones – or giving up on the idea of close-quarters marking.

“What they really need, of course, is a fit, functioning and – most importantly – fully interested Morelos. But that’s not going to happen.”

Disappointing end

Morelos has enjoyed a remarkable Rangers career in every sense of the word, with the striker never too far away from either a goal or a moment of controversy.

His ability in and around the box cannot be questioned, with the Colombian netting over 100 goals for the Scottish giants.

But he has also let his temper get the better of him during his time at the club, with the forward picking up several yellow and red cards for many impetuous moments on the pitch.

Gers manager Beale will miss his goals, but perhaps the boss does not want to deal with the other side of Morelos’s game, and so he looks certain to be one of the first players through the exit door as soon as the season comes to a close.

The attacker has shown his desire to get on the scoresheet this season, but it seems he hasn’t done enough to convince his manager that he is the right man to lead the line, with a summer exit perhaps the best outcome for all parties in the grand scheme of things.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart has stated that one player has been a standout for the Gers in an otherwise disappointing season.
