Rangers fans win as official Ibrox news emerges out of the blue
It’s certainly been an eventful couple of weeks at Rangers and the latest news to come out of Ibrox will send yet more shockwaves through the fanbase.
The Light Blues confirmed (25 April) that Stewart Robertson will be stepping down from his position as the club’s managing director, with James Bisgrove to take his place.
This news will come as a huge relief to large parts of the fanbase, with the away support making their feelings heard during the Gers’ Scottish Premiership win over Motherwell on 18 March.

Ross Wilson and Robertson were the brunt of the fans’ frustrations at Fir Park and it appears their voices have now been heard loud and clear. Wilson was named Nottingham Forest’s chief football officer on 12 April and Robertson has now followed him out the door at Ibrox.
It feels as if a new dawn is now upon the club and the fans have certainly won on this occasion. It’s now up to Bisgrove and John Bennett to assist Michael Beale moving forward and ensure the summer transfer window is one of the best in recent memory.

With Celtic improving year on year, Beale knows he needs to add quality and value to his squad. There are too many players who are not up to the standard required. Bisgrove’s first move must be to add a new sporting director after Wilson’s departure.
Beale seems adamant that he is more than capable of dealing with the Gers’ transfer activity. But, we all know he will need assistance in order for the club to reach its former heights.
Nonetheless, Rangers’ fans have had their wishes granted, only time will tell if it’s the right decision.
In other Rangers news, Ally McCoist has named the player who “has to play” against Celtic at Hampden Park.
