Rangers can repeat Malik Tillman masterclass in Pablo Torres as transfer news emerges
Rangers reportedly want to sign Barcelona midfielder Pablo Torre on loan this summer and could potentially achieve another Malik Tillman masterclass should they sign him.
The 19-year-old joined the Spanish giants from Racing Santander last season but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by, making just seven appearances in all competitions since his arrival.
The Gers attempted to sign the young Spaniard last season but he opted to join the Catalan giants instead. However, there may well be another opportunity for the Light Blues to recruit him as he seeks a new club for first-team opportunities.

According to Mundo Deportivo [13 April] Rangers have emerged as a potential destination due to their interest last summer.
“Rangers have been successful this season with the loan of Malik Tillman, Bayern Munich’s attacking midfielder who has scored 12 goals in 40 games, and could repeat the formula with Pablo Torre according to the latest information coming from Scotland,” the report writes.
The Gers have previously found the loan market successful, most notably through the exploits of Tillman who joined on loan from Bayern Munich last summer and has gone on to become an absolute revelation at Ibrox, notching an impressive 12 goals and four assists in all competitions.
Rangers will be undergoing a major squad rebuild this summer and will have to do it without their much-maligned sporting director Ross Wilson who left the Gers on Wednesday [12 April] to join Premier League outfit, Nottingham Forest.
However, Wilson’s departure certainly won’t deter the club’s business in the transfer market and Rangers could be deemed as highly resourceful should they utilise the loan market again and given Torre’s unique midfield qualities, he could represent another bargain acquisition.
Barcelona boss Xavi has previously described the £3.5k-per-week starlet as a player with a “lot of talent,” and his technical excellence in midfield and progressive abilities could fit in seamlessly within Michael Beale’s system at Ibrox.

More crucially, at just 20 years of age, the Spanish wonderkid fits the kind of profile Beale is desperate to work with, given his past exploits in transforming and improving the youthful options in his squads at QPR and when he coached the Liverpool youth teams.
Torre is a hungry young midfielder with an amazing skillset and hunger to improve even further, but also a player willing to take risks in his career which is shown through his decision last summer to join Barcelona.
However, while that move hasn’t quite worked out through no fault of his own, he could certainly consider joining Beale’s exciting setup at Ibrox and follow in the footsteps of Tillman who looks set to complete a permanent move at Ibrox. A potential no-brainer.
In other Rangers news, the club are in a battle with Celtic for a wantaway Premier League player.
