Rangers transfer news as Thomas Tuchel could provide Malik Tillman headahce
Rangers legend Jorg Albertz has suggested that there could be intervention from new Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel on Malik Tillman’s future.
Der Hammer wants to see Tillman secure his place at Ibrox beyond next season but believes that further negotiation will be required with the Bavarian giants, especially now that the former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund coach is in the hot seat.
As reported by the Rangers Review, the ever-popular German who plied his trade at Ibrox under Walter Smith and Dick Advocaat, respectively, between 1996 and 2001, was happy to hear of talks between the clubs. He believes that a solution can be found in the best interests of all, especially the US international.

Albertz expects Tuchel to run the rule over the 20-year-old’s situation as well as that of the entirety of Bayern’s first-team squad.
“I’d love to see Tillman go to Ibrox permanently and Munich can maybe have an option to get him back,” he said. “We’re talking about a 20-year-old. He can develop, improve at Rangers, he can play in Europe.
“But they’ve a new manager who’ll want a look at the boy to decide for himself.
“These are talks that must be going on in Munich if there’s an offer from Rangers. Tuchel has only just had his first game against Dortmund. As a manager, I wouldn’t just accept this before I’d seen the boy.”

One to watch.
Rangers are known to have an existing exclusive agreement to purchase the German-American for a reported fee of around £5-6million, but Bayern Munich also retain a buy-back option as part of any deal that may happen.
Such a scenario could even happen in the same transfer window but it remains to be seen just how the situation will unfold.
Albertz is right to point out that Tuchel may want to assess Tillman as well as there being no point in recalling him if he is not going to feature. The attacker has made significant progress in his debut season at Ibrox which should be followed up by extending his stay in Glasgow.
If Rangers are to pay the fee to land Tillman, it is likely to be a smart investment at the current rate that he is developing.
This transfer story has a few twists and turns remaining, that is for sure.
