Rangers transfer news as Ibrox reaction emerges on Thompson Ishaka

Rangers reportedly have high hopes for Thompson Ishaka after they announced his signing on Friday, 31 March.

According to reliable Ibrox source The 4th Official, despite signing an 18-year-old, the hierarchy have pinned their hopes on him.

It’s understood that Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea were also keen on signing him, but the Gers have won the race.

Via Twitter, T4O wrote, “Rangers have really high hopes on him tbh.”

Good signing?

There was plenty of hype and intrigue when footage emerged of him in action for the B team and that led to many fans calling for him to be signed up.

The fact that Manchester City and Chelsea also wanted him suggests that he is a top talent and Gers should be pleased with getting this deal over the line.

It looks like their plans are to fast-track his progress and make him first-team ready in no time, which comes as a bit of a surprise.

Usually, players are signed for the reserves at that age, unless they are generational talents and it could be that some of the decision makers see him as the next big thing.

It remains to be seen what Michael Beale says about it as he’s surely going to be asked about acquiring Ishaka’s services.

Rangers do need game changers out wide and if the teenager’s as good as many say he is, we could see him in the first team within no time.

In other Rangers news, another Ibrox exit may be on the cards after a major revelation last week which could force the clubs to part ways with a senior player.
