Ross Wilson escapes Rangers microscope as Union Bears drama is yet another ironic failure

The football was the last thing that anyone was talking about at Rangers on Sunday 12 March, despite the 3-0 win over Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup.

Drama is never far away at Ibrox and it started before a ball was even kicked with the Union Bears refusing to enter the ground after the club and Police Scotland confiscated planned banners.

Following the decision, the Union Bears posted a statement on their Twitter account, accompanied by a picture of a banner directed at Ross Wilson and his role of “Director of failure”.

“Union Bears had planned to display various legitimate message banners at today’s match highlighting different issues surrounding our club and support,” they said.

“From Rangers FC, this is a clear breakdown of trust and an attempt to silence our group’s valid concerns. The attempt to suppress the feelings amongst the Rangers’ support will not be successful.”

Strong.

Wow – this is a very strong message and one that has been needed.

The Ibrox boardroom is a real mess right now, and the likes of Wilson are getting away with job performance that would usually see them sacked in the real world.

Consistent poor judgement in signings, with the injury record right now at Ibrox nothing short of a joke and ending any hope of Michael Beale having a competitive squad against Celtic and Ange Postecoglou.

Trying to silence your own fans is never a good idea, and yet another failure, something that appears to be very ironic given the banner on show above.

Wilson continues to be defended by those around him, and he escaped criticism yet again as the microscope was looking into his failures.

In a timely reminder, Nnamdi Ofoborh, who was signed in 2021 and still has not played a single minute for the club, posted a cryptic message on Instagram this weekend, threatening to speak out on his mistreatment.

Wilson escaped the fans this weekend, but this will not go away until he or the club come out and face the fire.
