Rangers confirm starting XI for clash v Hearts

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for their Scottish Premiership clash against Hearts on Wednesday 1 February with two changes made.

Michael Beale decided to make two changes to his starting XI from the win over St Johnstone with the likes of Fashion Sakala and John Lundstram coming back into the XI in place of new signing Todd Cantwell and Ryan Jack

As confirmed on Twitter [1 February] prior to kick-off, Beale has decided to bench Cantwell for this fixture, which means Sakala has an opportunity to stake a claim once again.

Keep Momentum

With Old Firm rivals Celtic keeping hold of their nine-point lead at top of the Scottish Premiership table, it is vitally important Beale’s men keep their momentum.

The Gers have enjoyed some good form since the former Queens Park Rangers’ appointment in late November, still unbeaten in all of his 10 games as they keep the charge ahead of a gruelling schedule coming up.

Toppling their rivals seems unlikely this time around, but keeping up their sensational form could go a long way for them gaining confidence for the foreseeable future. And there’s still a ViaPlay Cup final with Celtic to contend with at the end of a crucial and testing month.

Hearts represent a tough challenge for the Gers as their opponents sit in third place in the table, who have been in great form themselves, having not tasted defeat since the World Cup break.

This game will be a test of the Gers’ mettle and quality.
