Alfredo Morelos proving his menacing quality at half-time in Hearts vs Rangers

It’s been an evening to remember so far for Rangers’ key man Alfredo Morelos putting in an action-packed first-half showing against Hearts at Tynecastle Park with the score at 2-0 to the away side.

The Columbian fan favourite bagged his eighth league goal of the campaign which put the Gers in the lead.

Michael Beale’s men played a quick free-kick, which Kent blazed past Garang Kuol inside the box standing up a cross to the back post where Morelos got above Alex Cochrane to unleash a bullet header past Zander Clark.

In a half in which the Light Blues dominated, Hearts were being completely overrun with the Gers swarming all over them for much of the first half so much so that Rangers had two goals disallowed.

But one man showing his quality all throughout the game so far is Morelos who has been pulling the Hearts defence apart with his pace, movement and link-up play with the likes of Fashion Sakala, Malik Tilman and Kent.

Morelos is forming quite a devastating attacking quartet with those three, and they will certainly be to how Rangers progress for the remainder of the campaign.

And the half-time stats have proven just as crucial Morelos is both in attack and defence. He recorded an 86% accurate pass rate, registered two shots on goal, won one of his two ground duels, and two of his three aerial duels and notching the first of Gers’ two goals.

With the 26-year-old out of contract at the end of the season, this is the kind of performance that will leave the Gers fans desperately wanting more beyond this summer.

Beale will be praying he can convince his star man to sign a new contract before the current deal runs out.

In other Rangers news, Gers want to sign this South American ace who’s playing in Europe.
