Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos could still leave Rangers, clubs eye 'bargain' deals

Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent could still leave Rangers as clubs look to snap up late “bargain” deals before the January window closes, according to the Daily Record.

Both Morelos and Kent see their Ibrox deals come to a close at the end of the season and it appears neither player is close to committing their future to the Scottish giants.

The Daily Record have suggested (30 December) outgoings could still occur at Ibrox, despite there only being one day left in the winter trading period.

“There could also be outgoings with the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos approaching the end of their deals, which could see clubs looking to snap up a late bargain before 1 February,” they wrote.

Hold fire

At this stage in the window, Rangers have clearly laid down their marker when it comes to Morelos and Kent. If they were going to cash in on either player it would have happened at the start of the window. There’s pretty much no time left for the Light Blues to find a replacement.

Both players have been in good form since Michael Beale’s return to Ibrox – and it would be a huge risk to let either player depart before Tuesday’s deadline (31 January).

Beale will be delighted with his first window as Rangers’ boss. The Light Blues have managed to sign Todd Cantwell and are also on the verge of signing Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin.

The January window was a chance for the former Queen’s Park Rangers boss to start looking to the future and he’s certainly done that. One more signing would make it a perfect window, but at present, a move for Swansea City forward Morgan Whittaker appears unlikely.

In other Rangers news, a club in Europe holds the option to re-sign a player from Ibrox whenever they like.
