Nicolas Raskin Rangers transfer to be completed on Tuesday – Chris Jack
Rangers are set to confirm the signing of Nicolas Raskin on Tuesday after they finally reached an agreement with Standard Liege, according to Chris Jack.
It’s believed the Gers will pay the Jupiler League side £1.75million for the 21-year-old who was banished to Liege’s reserves after refusing to sign a new deal.
Raskin is currently in Scotland finalising his move to Ibrox (Daily Record, 30 January) and it’s understood his move will be officially completed on deadline day (Glasgow Evening Times, 30 January).

Superb
This is a move the Gers have been looking to pull off for a long time and the board will be delighted to have finally secured a move for the 21-year-old. Raskin was highly sought-after and the Gers have managed to secure his services for a cut-price.
Had he still been contracted to Standard Liege, Rangers could have easily had to pay three or four times what they’re paying now. As soon as he puts pen to paper, the Light Blues would’ve already recouped their transfer fee for the Belgium under-21 international.

The versatile midfielder will provide an injection of youth and also add competition for the Gers’ current midfield options. Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack are in the latter stages of their careers and could well be concerned with Raskin’s imminent arrival.
It’s up to Michael Beale to integrate his new addition into his starting eleven and ensure he makes a significant impact for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
In other Rangers news, a club in Europe holds the option to re-sign a player from Ibrox whenever they like.
