BBC pundit shares what he’s heard about Joe Aribo return to Rangers on loan
Kenny Miller is “sure” Michael Beale would have looked at bringing Joe Aribo back to Rangers with the Nigerian currently out of favour at Southampton.
Aribo made the switch to the South Coast side in the summer of 2022 but has struggled to make an impact for a Saints team which is currently rooted at the foot of the Premier League table.
BBC Scotland pundit Miller feels that if the opportunity arose, it’s something the former QPR boss would certainly consider.

“Michael Beale has become known for wanting to play two No.10s in his Rangers team. But at this rate, he could have eight at his disposal for just three slots,” wrote Miller (Daily Record column, 29 January).
“With news that Southampton might look to offload Joe Aribo, I’ve even heard some Gers fans say the club should bring him back.
“But where would he fit in? Incidentally, if Michael could get Aribo back on loan, I’m sure it’s something he’ll have looked at, given the Nigerian’s contribution last time around.”
Move on
Aribo has had his time at Ibrox. He was a huge success and he earnt his move to the Premier League, but for Rangers, it’s time to move on. His wages would’ve been doubled on the South Coast and financially a move would be hard to complete.
Furthermore, Aribo has struggled for form this season. Signing an out-of-form player on high wages is always a gamble and one the Light Blues should stay clear of. There have been no concrete rumours about their former player, so this is a move which will almost certainly not happen.

Todd Cantwell has already come through the door to add another option in attacking midfield and Standard Liege youngster Nicolas Raskin has also been linked. Furthermore, a deal for Swansea City attacker Morgan Whittaker is also being worked on as the window comes to a close.
Beale and the board will now be fully focused on ensuring the Gers land all of their targets before Tuesday’s deadline.
In other Rangers news, one player had wowed commentators with “absolutely terrific” play with the score still goalless.
