Ryan Kent wows commentators with sparkling early sequence for Rangers vs St Johnstone
Tom Miller and Andy Little were blown away by Ryan Kent as he terrified the opposition early before Rangers took the lead against St Johnstone.
Moments before James Tavernier put the Light Blues ahead from the spot a quarter of an hour in, Kent produced some wonderful play to beat a couple of visiting midfielders with a step-over as he ran threateningly at the back line, before slipping a ball past the defence for Alfredo Morelos.
The ease and intent from the English winger delighted the two commentators, and even though the Colombian didn’t score from the chance when his shot was saved, the home side were soon ahead anyway.
Speaking live on the RangersTV coverage on Saturday (28 January, 3.13pm) of the match Miller said: “The build up Andy is absolutely terrific.”
Little replied: “Yeah it was brilliant. That’s class from Ryan Kent, we’re well used to that.
“That three, I don’t know where they’re playing to be honest, [Malik] Tillman, [Todd] Cantwell and Kent, they’re all over the place and it’s so hard to pick up.”

Not much longer?
Kent was on strong form for the entire first half at Ibrox and offered a reminder of why he has been a Rangers star for the past few seasons.
Whether this will be the last few months he produces that play in a Light Blues shirt remains to be seen, with his contract running down and an exit currently on the cards in the summer.
With new signing Cantwell starting this game and long-injured Ianis Hagi finally back in the squad the options are increasing for Michael Beale.
Fashion Sakala has also been an important player since the new manager so whether there is space in the squad or on the wage bill to retain Kent much longer will be a question.
It was a pretty comfortable first half for the home side, who showed intent from the first whistle and took the lead from the spot after a hand ball.
With St Johnstone down to 10 men once VAR saw Nicky Clark sent off for a hard challenge on Ryan Jack this game must not be allowed to produce anything but three points.
In other Rangers news, one player is heading for a permanent exit with the club looking to get him off the wage bill.
