Rangers transfer news as club make fresh bid for Morgan Whittaker
Rangers have tabled a new and improved bid of £2million to Swansea for forward Morgan Whittaker, according to the Daily Record.
The Light Blues have gone in with a fresh and improved package to try and lure the forward away from Wales to Ibrox before the transfer deadline shuts completely.
The report claims that Rangers are waiting for an answer from Swansea’s American owners over their proposed offer, with the Welsh club refusing to name their price for Whittaker thus far.

“Rangers have tabled an improved £2million package to land Morgan Whittaker,” as quoted by the Daily Record. (27 January)
“The Light Blues have gone in with a fresh bid to try to land the Swansea City star. Michael Beale earlier in the day had dismissed claims of a new bid, but the approach was made after he had spoken to the media. They are now waiting to see if the offer, which would take add-ons to hit the top-line figure, will be enough.
“The Ibrox side are awaiting a response from Swansea’s American owners. The Welsh club have refused to name a price for Whittaker but they are understood to want more than has been offered. The 22-year-old has told Swansea he wants to make the move to Scotland.
“They are actively trying to persuade him to remain and help their English Championship campaign.”

Get it done.
The fact Whittaker has told Swansea that he wants to join Rangers is all you need to know from this one, surely the forward can force through a move to Ibrox.
£2million seems like a fair price for a Championship striker and this may be enough cash to tempt the Swans American owners into budging.
Swansea have no Championship game this weekend which means the Light Blues can push this one straight into the early hours of deadline day.
Beale confirmed yesterday that the club are also trying to tie down Nicolas Raskin to an Ibrox deal in the coming days, something which has been a long time coming.
A January transfer window with the incomings of Cantwell, Raskin and Whittaker would be a lovely sight for the Ibrox faithful, lets’s hope the club can put these words into some action.
With silverware still on the line and the Scottish Premiership still to play for, these new additions would go down an absolute treat in Beale’s squad.
In other Rangers news, a club in Europe holds the option to re-sign a player from Ibrox whenever they like.
