Ibrox transfer news as Rangers in good position to sign Nicolas Raskin

Rangers are in a pretty good position to sign wantaway Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The 21-year-old maestro has entered the final six months of his contract at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne alerting Rangers and Michael Beale of his availability.

Jones confessed that Rangers are in a prime position to take advantage of this uncertain situation and his current club will have to make a decision on his future soon.

“Yeah, he might be heading in. Beale’s been talking it up, his contract situation is leading to a moment when his current club have to decide, basically, whether they can let this roll on much longer,” the former Eurosport journalist told GIVEMESPORT (23 January)

“Rangers are in a pretty good position, to be honest, to take advantage of the uncertainty.”

Promising.

It seems like Rangers and Raskin have been linked for an eternity now and it would be great to see the Gers get this one signed, sealed and over the line.

Raskin is a top young talent and would definitely add some firepower to the Rangers engine room, one that has been bolstered in recent days by Todd Cantwell.

Beale seems to be trying to make an exciting and young squad brimming with skill and buzz, but he needs the funds from the Ibrox board to achieve this.

With the Cantwell signing completed, Rangers now need to make Raskin happen, he’s the type of player who could thrive in the Scottish Premiership.

The Belgium Under-21 international is currently enjoying one of his most fruitful seasons to date, supplying his team with five-goal contributions in 18 outings.

And this is in the midst of a contract squabble, so you’d think he’d be able to contribute even more towards a new club with a fresh outlook and mindset.

In other Rangers news, the Gers want to offer a four-and-a-half-year contract to seal the signing of this European ace.
