Rangers contract news as Michael Beale likely applies pressure on Ibrox board for Ryan Kent deal
Michael Beale is likely to apply pressure to the Rangers hierarchy to hand winger Ryan Kent a new Ibrox deal, according to the Daily Record. (23 January)
Kent’s current Rangers contract comes to an end this summer and it seemed that the club were resigned to losing him for next to nothing.
Nevertheless, Beale sees Kent as a fundamental part of his team moving forward and could push the Rangers board to find the money to tie him down to a new deal.

“Beale is also likely to be applying some considerable pressure on the men upstairs to find the money required to tie up Ryan Kent on a new contract,” as quoted by the Daily Record. (23 January)
“The winger is fundamental to everything he has been attempting to implement on the pitch since returning north from QPR.”

Gets what he wants.
Despite not being at the helm of Ibrox for long, Beale already looks like he’s getting what he wants from the Ibrox board, something which has been a nice change to see.
He’s been extremely open about the deals he wants to make in January, speaking publically about his targets and admiration for players.
Beale obviously learned from his time as Steven Gerrard’s number two that the Gers board were a tough nut to crack when it came to transfer dealings.
And this is an issue he’s evidently made clear before joining the club for his second spell and something that seems to be going in the Englishman’s favour.
Todd Cantwell, Morgan Whittaker and Nicolas Raskin are all being touted with moves to Ibrox this week and their arrival will speak volumes of the influence Beale now has on the board.
The failure to sign all three of these rumoured targets would only make the board look worse than they already do, in what has been a tough few years for Ross Wilson and co.
In other Rangers news, the Gers want to offer a four-and-a-half-year contract to seal the signing of this European ace.
