BBC pundit shares if £3m Rangers deal for Lawrence Shankland will happen in January
James McFadden has claimed there’s “no chance” of Rangers signing Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland in the January transfer window.
Barry Ferguson has previously stated that he’s “sure” Rangers are keeping an eye on the 27-year-old striker who has scored 15 Scottish Premier League goals this season (Go Radio).
However, McFadden has since suggested the Edinburgh club would not accept a £3million bid for the in-form forward.

“They’re [Rangers] not getting Shankland. Hearts won’t sell Shankland. No chance. I don’t think so [Hearts accepting £3million for Shankland],” said McFadden (Open Goal, 22m 33s, 5 January).
On Beale’s radar
Another striker will certainly be on the agenda for Michael Beale as he looks to strengthen his squad over the next two transfer windows. Alfredo Morelos isn’t the same player he once was and also looks set to depart the club with a new deal looking unlikely at this stage.
Antonio Colak has looked impressive since moving to Scotland, however, he will need some more competition for the start of the 2023/24 season. Potentially a pacier forward could be an option for the new boss as he looks to reshape his current squad.

Getting the Croatian back involved in the first team picture will be a huge boost for Beale after Morelos’ guilt edge misses against Celtic in the Old Firm Derby. The 26-year-old missed two headers in the first half which could’ve changed the whole complexion of the match. Had Colak had those chances, they would’ve likely been planted in the back of Joe Hart’s net.
