Rangers to put all eggs in Ryan Kent basket after ‘fantastic’ Old Firm – pundit
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Rangers fans would choose to keep Ryan Kent over Alfredo Morelos if they had to pick one to stay at Ibrox, according to Tam McManus.
Kent and Morelos are both out of contract at the end of the season and are currently open to pre-contract offers from clubs elsewhere.
Ex-Liverpool winger Kent scored his second goal of the campaign in Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Celtic on Monday (2 January) and impressed overall for the first time in a long time.

Morelos, on the other hand, struggled and conceded possession early on to allow Daizen Maeda to score Celtic’s first goal of the Old Firm stalemate at Ibrox.
McManus believes that Kent is the preferred option among fans right now but wants to see the Englishman play more consistently rather than just turning up in the big games.
Speaking to Ibrox News, he said: “I thought Kent was very, very good, particularly in the first half. And then he got his goal. But I think that’s why Kent gets so much criticism because he’s capable of that – he really is capable of that – but he’s saving it for the big games.

“He’s scored a few goals against Celtic now but he isn’t a bread-and-butter player, which is frustrating for a lot of Rangers supporters.
“It was a fantastic goal, cutting inside and sticking it in the top corner. He looked lively.
“If you’re a Rangers fan and you’re looking at Kent and Morelos. If you’ve got to pick one to stay, you’ll be putting all your eggs in the Kent basket.
“He looks fit, he looks sharp, he looks hungry, he looks as if he wants to do well and Morelos, on the other hand, doesn’t.”
In other Rangers news, the Gers want to sign this South American ace who’s playing in Europe.
