Heart and Hand reveal what Michael Beale has said about Rangers January transfer plans
Michael Beale is keen to make some additions to the Rangers squad in January and he has told Heart and Hand exactly what he desires.
The Light Blues manager spoke to the media after the 2-2 draw at home to Celtic, which was his first dropped points as the main man in Glasgow, and said that he would want to sign “two or three” players this month.
Beale might have to plan for the future in the meantime with several players out of contract at the end of the season who could leave a big hole in his squad.
Last January saw Aaron Ramsey and Amad Diallo headline the incoming but neither were a hit at Ibrox with the former missing the crucial penalty in the shootout in the Europa League final.
Ryan Kent, one of the players out of contract in the summer, scored the equaliser in the 2-2 draw with the Hoops as James Tavernier bagged his 100th career goal from the penalty spot minutes later.

Two or three might be a more realistic possibility but the dream scenario would see four, five or even six make their way through the doors at Auchenhowie.
The Old Firm derby was a perfect shining example of where Rangers need to improve as Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Josip Juranovic, Liel Abada and Aaron Mooy were all brought off the bench for Celtic.

The Light Blues simply don’t have that kind of depth right now and need to try and address it any way they can in January before making a proper overhaul happen in the summer.
Injuries haven’t necessarily helped in some regard with Antonio Colak only just back from a knock and Ridvan Yilmaz, John Souttar and Filip Helander are still some way from fitness.
Beale can put a plaster over the cut for now with a couple of astute winter purchases but the major work has to happen in the summer when he has the freedom to go wild.
In other Rangers news, in a team of the season so far, Andy Walker chose to snub the Gers entirely while Kris Boyd didn’t flood his side with Bears either.
