Rangers official partner share ‘Huge’ update on Connor Goldson and Ben Davies

Michael Beale has told Rangers official media partners Four Lads Had a Dream that Connor Goldson and Ben Davies are set to return to training in the next few days.

His first game in charge, albeit a friendly, ended in a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen at Ibrox on 10 December with Malik Tillman grabbing a brace.

Shortly after, Beale provided positive news on the defensive duo but admitted that they will not be rushed back so they are a while away from featuring again.

Via Twitter, Four Lads wrote, “Huge news from press conference as Michael Beale reveals Connor Goldson and Ben Davies will return to training next few days. Connor well ahead of schedule

“Will not rush them but much more positive.”

Positive news

It’s good to see players returning to full fitness one by one and we cannot wait to see how a fully fit Gers side will look under Beale.

The manager clearly has a distinct philosophy and we could see signs of it against Leverkusen although it’s still early days.

The players played with more freedom and most of them stepped onto the pitch like they had something to prove.

Often under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, certain players felt that their spot in the team was guaranteed and stopped taking things seriously.

Beale instantly commands the respect of the dressing room and players will know that they cannot take him for a ride as he will drop them without a second thought.

Hopefully, Beale is also backed with a few more players in January as this squad is still some way away from getting to where they deserve to be.
