Finance Expert: Revenue could now fall at Rangers after new December reveal
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers are likely to see their revenue figures drop in the coming months as the cost of living crisis continues in the United Kingdom.
The Finance Expert reacted after recent reveals shared that fans are now less likely to purchase match tickets and from buying merchandise items.
Plumley did admit that Rangers are likely to be immune to massive changes in their accounts though compared to the other clubs in the Scottish system.

“In priority order, if you were to ask most fans, in terms of going to matches and commercial spends, most of them would prioritise going to the match,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“Naturally, you might get a drop off on the commercial side of things. Again, for Rangers, that will be less of an issue than the other clubs in the league and lower down the Scottish system.
“We always tend to find that the bigger clubs are immune in this kind of crisis and in the case of Rangers here, I don’t see that being any different, their attendances will still hold strong with fans still watching games at Ibrox, they will still sell merchandise, maybe to a lesser extent but for Rangers, you’re talking more of a minimal impact.”
Some things are just more important than revenue at a club, and especially at times like this, those inside the club will recognise that and expect it.
