Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara tipped to leave Ibrox for European league

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has reportedly been tipped to leave Ibrox in the January transfer window and join FC Midtjylland.

According to Tipsbladet, the Danish side are looking for midfielders and the Finland international could be on his way there.

While he will not be a like-for-like fit, there are chances that the manager will shuffle things around in order to get the best of the 27-year-old.

Journalist Troels Bager Thøgersen said, “Kamara could easily end up in a smaller club in one of the Top 5 leagues, but as a Scandinavian (Finnish) national team player, he fits in well with what FC Midtjylland also wants. He is definitely not a 1-on-1 replaces Evander, but if FC Midtjylland is willing to make a reshuffle in midfield, where Olsson is moved into a more offensively focused role, Kamara could be used.”

Should be sold

Kamara is loved by the fans, staff and players but unfortunately, he’s not the player he was a couple of years.

There was legitimate Premier League interest in securing his services, but now it’s not even teams fighting for the Danish league title that want him.

Unless Michael Beale can miraculously turn around his form and make him more valuable in the future, his price is not going to get higher than it is right now.

If the right offer comes in, Ross Wilson would be foolish not to cash in on him as the club need to raise funds to help Beale strengthen the playing eleven.

Currently, Rangers have a mountain to climb if they are to win the league and they cannot do it with the same crop of players.

Hopefully, common sense prevails and while it may be an emotional farewell, it’s the right thing to do in the current situation.
