Rangers-crazy pundit reacts as Celtic secure January transfer of Alistair Johnston

Former Rangers player Colin Miller believes that Celtic have made very good signing in the form of Canada international Alistair Johnston.

Despite admitting that he’s a Gers fan, Miller went on record to state that he’s sure Johnston will do well under Ange Postecoglu.

He even went as far as to compare him to the legendary Danny McGrain who represented Celtic for nearly two decades.

Rangers

Miller told the Daily Record, “He has a terrific attitude, a very humble guy and is smart too. I asked a couple of staff members this week what he was like and they said he is a great team mate, just a good lad to have around the dressing room. I’m sure he will suit an Ange Postecoglou team.

“Does he remind me of anyone? Danny McGrain. And you won’t get much better than that. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself because we are speaking about a Celtic legend.

“But if he comes remotely close to Danny’s level then the Celtic fans will be delighted. As much as it breaks my heart to say it because of my allegiance to Glasgow Rangers, I hope Alistair does well in Scotland and I think he will. I just hope his team doesn’t do so well!”

Time to wake up

Celtic hold a significant lead in the league and are continuing to strengthen their side by making moves before the window even opens.

Rangers now have a new manager at the helm and he certainly will need to be backed in January.

This squad is nowhere good enough to overcome the deficit and Michael Beale surely knows he needs the board to help him out.

There need to be some big decisions made about Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent as well because neither seems quite willing to sign new deals.

If they do not fancy playing under Beale, the club must cash in on them as soon as the window opens and then use that money to strengthen other areas.

At least a couple of signings is what Beale would realistically be targeting and if possible, he would also like all the players leaving to be replaced as soon as possible.
