All on Michael Beale to decide Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent Rangers futures
Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent’s futures at Rangers will solely depend on whether Michael Beale sees the pair as part of his future plans, says Chris Jack.
The duo are out of contract in the summer and both are yet to agree new deals at Ibrox with summer departures now looking likely the longer this continues.
However, Jack has suggested there may be hope for Rangers with the idea that history could repeat itself after Connor Goldson decided to stick around over the summer.

“Rangers must now hope that history repeats itself with Kent and Morelos. Regardless of their form or sporting merit right now, it makes little business sense to allow balance sheet assets walk out the door for nothing,” wrote Jack (Rangers Review, 3 December).
“It will be down to Beale to decide how much he wants to push for Kent and Morelos – two integral components of the squad he coached first time around – to remain part of his plans now that he is the one calling the shots.”
Interesting
It will be intriguing to see if Beale does look to keep the out-of-contract duo at Ibrox considering they both looked almost certain to leave with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at the helm. For Rangers, not cashing in on the duo in the summer of 2022 is looking like an error.
Unless they tie themselves to new deals, both players leaving for free is very much on the cards.
However, with Beale having previously worked with the pair during his time at Rangers under Steven Gerrard, there’s a chance both players could become invested in the project again.

Morelos and Kent both need to show more when it comes to their performance levels. Both are currently operating well below what they are capable of and they need to show the new boss they have the potential to make a significant impact in the future.
The decision surrounding their futures will be the first one of Beale’s tenure to really come under the spotlight, with the 42-year-old looking to start a new era at Ibrox.
