Rangers consider Union Bears relocation at Ibrox with fan survey issued
The Union Bears currently sit in the BF1 section of Ibrox, but Rangers are considering relocating the club’s ultras more centrally.
Any fans in the Broomloan Road stand at Ibrox woke up to an email from Rangers on Friday questioning fans about possibly moving the Union Bears.
The Rangers ultras group are seated on the corner of the stand currently, but a trialled relocation during the match against Queen of the South this season resulted in a much better atmosphere when they were moved more central.

A survey was sent out to all fans in the Broomloan Road stand, earmarking the BF3 section of the stadium as a potential new location.
“Rangers have been approached by a group of supporters who have proposed to create a central singing section within the Broomloan Front with the aim of enhancing match day atmosphere within Ibrox Stadium,” read the email, as quoted by Football Scotland.
“Following feedback from supporters via surveys and structured dialogue, the club are aware the atmosphere within the stadium is highly valued in creating a positive match day experience.
“As a result, the club are issuing the following survey to all season ticket holders within the Broomloan Front to ensure that supporters have the opportunity to help feedback to the club and inform club decision making.”
Board redemption
The Rangers board have made some horrifically out-of-touch decisions this season. The Sydney Super Cup saga continues to rumble on in the background, while the lack of backing for Giovanni van Bronckhorst still leaves the fanbase sour.
They’ve rightfully been criticised by supporters, pundits and ex-players, but it seems they’ve finally got something right.

The Union Bears are a major part of a Rangers matchday, and the atmosphere at Ibrox is often driven by their passion. Moving them centrally seems logical in order to maximise the stadium atmosphere, but addressing the fans is always a good idea.
Issuing a fan survey is such a simple but effective method of being transparent with fans and considering their feedback. The Gers board haven’t done enough of it lately so it’s refreshing to see fans have a say in a club decision – especially as it’s a decision that affects fans.
Michael Beale’s appointment turns a fresh page for Rangers, and hopefully, this is the start of a more interactive and communicative Rangers board.
