Michael Beale faces Rangers exodus, 11 players could leave Ibrox in 2023
Michael Beale faces a Rangers exodus as 11 players look set to leave Ibrox in 2023 according to the Scottish Daily Mail journalist John McGarry.
Beale will likely see a massive shift in the squad and talents he has at his disposal in what promises to be a new-look Gers team.
Speaking in the print edition of the Scottish Daily Mail on Saturday (page 115, 26 November 2022), journalist John McGarry confessed that Beale needs to be “prolific” in the transfer market this summer as he faces a “huge” turnover in players.

“The contracts of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Ryan Jack and Filip Helander all expire in the summer, together with that of young goalkeeper Kieran Wright,” said McGarry.
“The loan deals for James Sands and Malik Tillman also come to an end. While the new man could reduce that number by getting round the table with certain individuals the likes of McGregor, 40, and Davis, 37, will retire.
“And there’s little sense in the offering Arfield, 34, fresh terms. By any measure, the turnover in players will be huge. The side which starts next season will bear little resemblance to the current one.
“In one sense that’s a big opportunity for a manager to quickly put their own stamp on the team, although there would be a pressing need to be prolific in the transfer market.”

Clean slate.
It’s time for a clean slate at Ibrox and the exodus of the majority of the squad gives Beale the opportunity to mould the team in his image.
There are no doubts this will be tough, but he’s the right person to do so, any other manager coming in with such changes would be worrying.
Nevertheless, Beale brings with him a calm and steady nature that should put fans at ease, he’ll have the right staff in place to access what the Gers really need.
Talents like Morelos and Kent have outstayed their welcome at Ibrox and don’t look like they want to fight for everything in a Light Blue shirt anymore.
Ridding the team of dead weight like this is the obvious step to make, it’s the only way the team will make any progress in the coming years.
It’s going to be an exciting summer to be a Rangers fan, but the club need to get the transfer window desperately right.
