Days could now be numbered as Rangers sack still on cards for Giovanni van Bronckhorst and staff
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s time at Rangers could still be numbered despite his assistant coach heading out on a family holiday, say The Sun.
Gers fell nine points behind Celtic in the SPFL title race and were humiliated during the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, leaving the manager on the brink of being sacked and under huge fan pressure to go.
But so far the club haven’t pulled the trigger despite the season being on hold for the World Cup in Qatar, but The Sun say their days could yet be numbered at Ibrox.

“Rangers coach Roy Makaay looks like he’s put any fears over his future to one side as he lives it up on a family holiday in Canada,” they wrote (18 November).
“The Dutchman has jetted off to Toronto amid mounting pressure on gaffer Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his staff.
“Their days could be numbered after the team fell nine points behind Celtic following a string of poor results – with former manager Steven Gerrard the favourite to take over following his Aston Villa sacking.”
Has to go
Surely, surely it’s the right time for everyone to go their separate ways and for the club to head into a new direction.
Van Bronckhorst has had great times at Ibrox, both as a player and as a manager, and the fans will undoubtedly remember him for winning the two domestic cups last season and reaching the Europa League final.
But the longer this tenure goes on, with fans already against him and opposition figuring out him and his style of play, those will become distant memories and people will only remember what came afterwards.

Humiliating defeats to Napoli, Liverpool, Ajax and Celtic have proven too much for the fans to forgive and it would take a miracle for the Dutch coach and his staff to turn things around at this point.
With a big break in the season, it’s the perfect get-out for him to start fresh elsewhere and the club to have a clean break while giving the new man a decent little pre-season that he wouldn’t usually be accustomed to.
