BBC journalist: Rangers board to stick by Giovanni van Bronckhorst after enquiries

The Rangers board are going to stick by Giovanni van Bronckhorst after enquiries were revealed by BBC journalist Hugh Macdonald this week.

The news will come as a blow to the Ibrox faithful who have seemingly made up their mind on the Dutchman, everyone wants him out.

Macdonald admitted that he had “made some enquiries and calls” regarding the ongoing van Bronckhorst debacle and was met with a unanimous reaction from his sources.

“I’ve made some enquiries and some calls and there’s a unanimous reaction from people,” said Macdonald speaking on the PLZ Soccer YouTube channel.

“The board want to remain loyal to Gio, they believe that getting into the UEFA Champions League was a great achievement.

“I think there’s an element of loyalty there, the mood at the moment seems to be we’ll stick by him.”

Rangers

Shocking.

This news is absolutely shocking, how can the club’s hierarchy still have faith in a manager who has dropped points to St. Johnstone and St. Mirren within a month?

Not to mention the calamitous UEFA Champions League campaign that has left the Gers as the embarrassment of Europe this season.

The World Cup break provided the club with the perfect opportunity for a fresh start, a months break where the team could be guided in a new direction.

Nevertheless, it seems the Rangers board have chosen the opposite, a risky move that may ultimately be the undoing of the clubs already doomed season.

There is no chance Rangers are making a comeback in the Scottish Premiership and even now the League Cup looks like it’ll likely be lost given the form we are seeing.

It’s frustrating to say the least, especially when there is an overriding feeling amongst fans at Ibrox that van Bronckhorst needs to leave if the team wants to progress.

In other Rangers news, the latest Ibrox conspiracy theory drummed up by Celtic fans is ridiculed by Gordon Parks.
