Douglas Park embarrasses Rangers fans yet again as Andy Walker insists cash has dried up

Rangers have endured a somewhat embarrassing season so far in all competitions, and it doesn’t look as though it is about to get any better at Ibrox.

With injuries ravaging through the squad and the worst Champions League group-stage record of all time being secured, it is clear that more signings are needed.

But, that may not happen with Andy Walker insisting there is “nothing there” on the cash front with the money either drying up or simply disappearing.

How could that possibly be the case?

Rangers went all the way to the Europa League final last season in what was seen as more financially beneficial than qualifying for the Champions League – something they then did in the summer.

Adding those two achievements on top of Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo being sold, and the Bears easily raked in nearly £100million or more easily.

So, where has it gone? Only one man can answer that and it is Douglas Park.

Embarrassing.

Ross Wilson didn’t even put a dent in that figure with his summer spending, so he won’t know and Stewart Robertson said before the sales of Aribo and Bassey that a bigger budget was available.

So, what has happened?

Has Park possibly pocketed some himself? Either way his silence continues to be deafening around Ibrox as we, the fans, are left to scratch our heads and watch this demise.

Sitting yet again behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership after they strengthened even further in the summer also baffles us, with nothing positive done behind the scenes to capitalise on this past success.

Rangers aren’t guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League every year or reach the final of the Europa League, you have to make sure you use that and push forward.

The club and Park have not done that, and this season has seen us become nothing short of a laughing stock, which is incredibly painful to see.

Changes are needed, quickly.
