Giovanni van Bronckhorst living through worst-case scenario at Rangers, no excuses – Chris Jack

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has surely planned for the worst-case scenario at Rangers after a horror couple of months, according to Chris Jack.

Injuries have ravaged the squad at Ibrox, but their performance in the Champions League is probably the most horrifying after sealing the worst-ever campaign by a club.

Jack has insisted that Van Bronckhorst will know that there are no excuses at Ibrox though, as he believes that the manager is now living through that worst-scenario, with the sack the only thing that could make it worst.

Writing in his latest column for the Glasgow Evening Times, Jack shared that the news at Ibrox continues to get worst for the manager with each passing week.

“Time after time, the Dutchman has had to rule players out of action,” he wrote. “Each occasion will have been even more frustrating than the previous one and it is hard to not have sympathy for the situation that he finds himself in.

“Van Bronckhorst knows as well as anyone that there are no excuses at Ibrox. But the way in which his squad has been cut and cut this term can be taken into account as a mitigating factor when assessing how the campaign has unfolded.

“Van Bronckhorst must surely have planned for a worst-case scenario. He is now living through it and the starting line-up and bench against Ajax told its own story.”

Sinking.

The Ibrox ship has hit a huge iceberg and Van Bronckhorst is going down with it.

Results have been hard to come by in Glasgow, especially in the Champions League, and the embarrassing nature of those performances have left the fans with little hope.

The trouble really starts coming though when the Bears start to draw against the likes of Livingston at home, a completely unacceptable result.

Van Bronckhorst has looked helpless on the touchline in recent months though, with his tactics never changing and ideas quickly running out.

Once the fanbase turns there is rarely a way back, and the majority have seen enough.

What is happening on the pitch may be the worst-case scenario for us, but it can be much worst for Van Bronckhorst, who could be packing his bags very quickly should this continue.

With only three games until the World Cup break arrives, nine points have to be collected or we could be using that break to put a new man in charge – all eyes are on Ibrox.
