Malik Tillman left shattered as new Rangers demands made this week

Rangers playmaker Malik Tillman was left shattered after the 4-1 win over Aberdeen last time out after new demands were made, according to The Athletic.

It is reported that the American was instructed to show more desire on the surface level, and it was clear to see as he dominated the Dons throughout at Ibrox.

Tillman has been one of the squad to come in for criticism for his so-called lazy playing style when on and off the ball, as results and performances started to drop.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic on Tuesday 01 November, Campbell shared what had been asked of the American playmaker before the win over Aberdeen.

“Tillman had been instructed to show more desire on the surface level on Saturday, though, as he put a shift in,” he wrote.

“Having fallen over the advertising boards after dribbling past three or four players and crossing the ball in, he stretched for Alfredo Morelos’ square ball but couldn’t direct it towards goal and lay flat down on the grass in the final five minutes.

“He was shattered but it is not a surprise that his body will still be adjusting to the demands of playing twice a week.”

Response.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is under severe pressure at Ibrox, and he will have been praying for his players to produce something, anything against Aberdeen.

That came and Tillman ran the show alongside Fashion Sakala, but now the same is needed in the Champions League against Ajax on Tuesday evening.

If all of that energy was exerted over the weekend, we could see a large group of the squad start to really tire after an hour, especially with the limited options available.

The injuries are really starting to mount, so we cannot afford to push players that one step too far right now, as this crisis at Ibrox is growing with each day.

Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies added to that over the weekend so hopefully, the likes of Tillman can perform and put the focus on matters on the pitch, rather than off it.

We need people to step up right now, and he may be the first to do that.
