Rangers defender Ben Davies was reportedly not spotted in training ahead of the Champions League clash against Ajax.
The former Liverpool man picked up an injury in the weekend’s 4-1 win over Aberdeen and is now expected to be out of this game as well.
The Daily Record reported that Davies was absent from the Sky Sports training footage they showcased in the afternoon on 31 October.
Gers are already knocked out of the Champions League, but there is plenty to play for in their final group stage game against Ajax.
Barring the fact that they’ll be playing for pride, after they were thumped by a four-goal margin against the Dutch side in the Netherlands, money is also at stake.
With every point clubs get in the Champions League, there are close to seven figures to be won and a side like Rangers need it desperately.
They’re not in the best financial situation and are keen on being self sustainable so they’ll take any money they get at the moment.
However, with the growing injury concerns, the chances of them getting anything from this one are few and the Dutchman will be hoping for a miracle.
Ridvan Yilmaz and John Lundstram are also expected to miss this game and it’s going to be a challenge.
We’re hoping that Gers do not end up embarrassing themselves and come away with at least a point from this one.
