Ben Davies shares if Leon King will leave Rangers to join Premier League
Ben Davies has showered heaps of praise on Rangers youngster Leon King.
The 18-year-old central defender has been used in recent games following injuries to several senior players, and he has been absolutely brilliant.
The youngster has been reportedly targeted by a host of Premier League clubs, and Davies feels that interest in him is “expected”.

“He’s got the right attitude and presence about him. It seems like nothing fazes him. He takes everything in his stride,” said Davies, as quoted by Rangers Review.
“I feel like he’s done really well because for a player of his age to play in that position in some of the games he’s played in, a lot of players would’ve shrunk. But I think he’s really stood up to it and relished it.”
When asked if he could move to the Premier League, Davies added: “That’s to be expected when you’re that young and playing in the Champions League and for Rangers. He has his feet on the floor and has tunnel vision for each game.”
Not so fast
Fabrizio Romano reported on the Here We Go Podcast on 10 October that several Premier League clubs are “pushing to sign” King as his contract at Rangers expires in 2024.
Leeds United, Manchester United and Newcastle United are thought to be some of the clubs vying for his signature.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made it clear that the Bears have not received any offer for the youngster, and the Dutchman expects him to stay for years to come.

King is a fantastic young talent, and the interest in him is natural. Given the club’s financial situation, there could be a temptation to sell him. But, Rangers must look to hold on to their precious talent.
In the past two transfer windows, the Gers have sold players like Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo on high transfer fees, and there will be opportunities to sell King at a high price in the future if he continues to grow.
The youngster must focus on playing regularly at the moment. He is probably good enough to play for a big Premier League club, but it’s too early for him to leave Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Carlton Palmer has tipped this exciting player to join Ibrox in January.
