Never seen before Rangers teenager Johnly Yfeko in training ahead of Napoli Champions League clash
Defender Jonhly Yfeko has been spotted in Rangers training ahead of their dead rubber Champions League clash against Napoli.
After losing all four of their games in the competition thus far, Tuesday’s game is no more than a formality in terms of the competition.
Gers will still be looking to pick up maximum points as that will see them earning more money from their participation this season.
Sky Sports Scotland shared footage of the training sensation in which Yfeko can be seen.
Debut?
The 19-year-old moved to Ibrox in January from Leicester City and much like Calvin Bassey who also moved from there, plays like a left-back.
Both players moved at relatively similar stages of their careers to Ibrox and Bassey went on to develop as a key player and earned himself a move to Ajax.
There’s a good chance that with the teenager training, Giovanni van Bronckhorst could look to get him off the bench in the second half.
With there not being too much riding on this clash, he will come into a low-pressure environment and that’s ideal for someone making their senior debut.
We’re waiting to see what the plans are for the Englishman and we’re pretty certain that he’s not long away from challenging for a squad role on the senior side.
The fact that he’s training with the first team suggests that the coaching staff appreciate his efforts and are giving him the chance to prove his worth.
