Rangers could make a move for Blackpool striker Jerry Yates to replace Alfredo Morelos in January as a move for a goal scorer may be a priority.
On 23 October, the Sun reported that Rangers wanted to sign the 25-year-old who has started the season in fine form for the English side.
He’s already bagged eight goals this term and scored a brace when a number of clubs were taking a look at him over the weekend.
It’s understood that Blackpool may look to make a good profit from his sale in January as his contract expires in 2024 and they do not want to get a low transfer fee for him.
Gers, who do have Antonio Colak as their number one striker, are still unsure about Morelos’ situation and the lack of game time could see him leaving the club.
He is free to sign pre-contract agreements with teams in England as well as Europe and that’s an option he surely will consider.
However, this would not benefit Rangers as he would end up leaving the club on a free transfer rather than making decent money from his sale.
They had the chance of doing it last summer, but the Colombian ended up staying put at the club.
January may be the last window for them to get something and selling him could open the door for Yates joining and he would not mind fighting for a spot in the team with Colak.
