Tam McManus: Fashion Sakala will be axed for Rangers v Livingston for new role
We’re delighted to welcome Tam McManus as our exclusive Rangers columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Tam McManus has insisted that Fashion Sakala will be axed from the Rangers’ starting XI for the Scottish Premiership clash against Livingston.
The Zambian speedster started against Dundee last time out but disappointed on the wing as the Bears laboured to a 1-0 victory in the Premier Sports Cup.
McManus did admit that Sakala was “unpredictable” and will still be a real threat from the bench for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to call upon at Ibrox.

“He has come on and done really well in games,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.
“He started and didn’t have the same impact, so for me, he is more of an impact sub when the defenders have tired when the game is open. He needs to come on and use his pace, he’s very very quick but sometimes he doesn’t know himself where he is going with the ball.
“He is unpredictable, but when he had a great opportunity to show what he could do from the start, he didn’t play well. I think he will be back out of the team and coming on as an impact substitute.”

Sakala has proved that he can make a real impact, but that rarely comes from the first whistle.
Once the game has opened up, he is certainly more at his best as he can get in behind more rather than going up against a defence that is sitting back with every man behind the ball.
Van Bronckhorst will no doubt utilise the Zambian should his side take an early lead and start to dominate throughout, with his face not one you want to see when tiring at Ibrox.
