Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd makes Giovanni van Bronckhorst sack admission after Rangers v Livingston

Kris Boyd believes that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is now closer than ever to receiving the sack at Rangers after the Livingston clash.

Gers struggled on Saturday afternoon and needed a late miracle to get a 1-1 draw against a team that’s sixth on the table.

They did not create too many clear-cut chances either and it was all in all a forgetful performance in front of their fans at Ibrox.

Rangers

Boyd said on Sky Sports at half-time, via Glasgow Times, “He could struggle to keep his job if it stays the same as it is now.

“You have to fear for Giovanni van Bronckhorst if Rangers don’t turn this around. They are not playing great football. They are now behind.

“Against Livingston. No disrespect to Livingston, they will cause you problems. Rangers should not be losing to Livingston.”

End of the road?

We will be really surprised if Rangers still decide to retain the services of the Dutchman.

In the league, they have looked woeful in comparison to Celtic and humiliating defeats against them do not make things easier.

Very few players have improved under his stewardship unlike how it was when Steven Gerrard was in charge with many taking their game to the next level.

There were issues with the board as well but this team is not as bad as it’s being made to look and they needed the opponents to go down to ten men to pick up a point at home.

Fresh ideas are needed if Rangers actually want to challenge for the title as the players do not look inspired here.

They’re possibly not playing for the manager and not like a team – just a group of individuals thrown onto a football pitch.
