Rangers forward Antonio Colak responds to fans booing the team

Rangers forward Antonio Colak had responded to fans who booed the team during their 1-0 win over Dundee on Wednesday evening.

Gers struggled throughout the fixture but managed to secure themselves a place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final and clinch their fifth straight domestic win.

Colak admitted he thrives off the power and energy of the fans at Ibrox and he completely understands their frustrations in recent weeks.

“The fans have the right to give their opinions. I understand that,” said Colak as quoted by the Glasgow Times.

“But I’m a really positive guy and I always want positive vibes and energy. I know what our fans can give us with their power and their energy.

“We are playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world so this [the fans’ booing] is a part of it. That’s why we only have players who can stand this pressure. I like to play under pressure as I want to win every game and to score.”

Shining light.

The prolific Croatian has been a shining light in an otherwise dull and dreary Rangers team this season and his goals have been priceless.

13 goals for the season so far is a solid total but you would think this would be enough reason for Giovanni van Bronckhorst to start him more.

Colak has the chance to be one of Rangers’ greatest-ever forwards if he keeps his prolific streak up, hopefully, he’ll get the minutes to do so.

The forward isn’t in the “world-class” bracket but he can be great for Gers moving forward and they’ll need him at his very best if they are to clinch the Scottish Premiership.

It sounds like he’s ready for the pressure cooker he’ll be under too if Rangers’ form continues to slump and this experience will be vital.

There definitely needs to be more urgency in the Bears performances but hopefully this run of form is just a blip and things will start to get better against Livingston on Saturday.
