Ally McCoist and Chris Sutton predict the results of Rangers v Livingston and Hearts v Celtic

Ally McCoist and Chris Sutton have both backed Rangers to win again in the Scottish Premiership as they take on Livingston at Ibrox on Saturday 22 October.

The latter believes it will be a close 2-1 victory for the home side, with McCoist backing the Bears to make it convincing as VAR is used for the first time domestically in Glasgow.

Both have also backed Celtic to win the lunchtime kick-off as they travel to Hearts looking to keep their gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Sutton and McCoist were making their predictions for BT Sport for their latest edition of Scottish Football Extra after a week of frustrations at Ibrox.

The home fans were left booing Giovanni van Bronckhorst and his side after the 1-0 win over Dundee, despite progression into the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Rangers

Van Bronckhorst will be wanting a commanding performance from his side this afternoon.

That means always being on the front foot, playing forward rather than consistently recycling possession backwards, and punishing Livingston consistently.

1-0 wins are not enough and scraping through games will not be accepted, when you pull on that blue shirt you have to go out and dominate.

It will be interesting to see the Celtic result first, especially after they struggled at St Johnstone last time out, with Tynecastle potentially much tougher.

If the Jambos can leave with all three points, it gives Rangers that extra motivation to go out and collect the win, and that would leave them top of the Scottish Premiership.

With the Champions League returning this week with a tough trip to Napoli, a big win could certainly be needed today to get some credit in the bank for Van Bronckhorst and his squad.
