Rangers confirmed XI v Dundee: Jon McLaughlin starts, Alfredo Morelos returns
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named his Rangers lineup for Wednesday night’s Scottish League Cup quarter-final clash against Dundee.
After a destabilising defeat to Liverpool and an unconvincing win against Motherwell, Van Bronckhorst will be looking to put things right against Dundee at Ibrox.
Rangers confirmed their starting XI via Twitter, with Van Bronckhorst making seven changes from the win over the weekend.
Jon McLaughlin, James Sands, Ridvan Yilmaz, Steven Davis, Scott Wright, Fashion Jr and Alfredo Morelos. It’s Yilmaz’s third start since his summer move from Bestikas.
Dundee will head to Ibrox with confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Ayr on Saturday. The Dark Blues currently sit fourth in the Championship but will want to complement their league campaign with a strong cup run.
Huge opportunity
After a miserable couple of weeks that included Rangers fans watching their Champions League hopes be stamped on by Liverpool, Gers have a great chance to provide some excitement on Wednesday night.
Reaching a cup semi-final is the exact type of positive news that Rangers fans need – and Van Bronckhorst will want to relieve the mounting pressure on his shoulders.

While Championship opposition presents a great chance for Rangers to control a game and try to build some confidence, there’s an equal threat of being embarrassed at home.
That simply cannot happen, and Van Bronckhorst’s team news reflects that. The Dutchman is aware that his squad is lacking confidence, and no risks can be taken in what is a huge clash for the club.
Van Bronckhorst will be looking for a convincing performance with a handful of goals to boost his side’s morale. Plus, with a semi-final to then look forward to, Rangers can finally get their season back on track.
