Finance Expert: Rangers set for short-term changes as Barry Scott leaves Director role at Ibrox

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Rangers...

Dan Plumley has insisted that Rangers are set for immediate changes in the boardroom after Barry Scott decided to leave his post in October.

The Finance Expert did admit that with numerous directors in place at Ibrox, the long-term impact shouldn’t see much change with business still needing to be done.

Scott quit his posts as Director, joining the likes of David Graham and Oli Pfeiffer moving on to different reasons in the past three weeks, as changes galore take place.

“I think in the short term for sure,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.

“If you look at the overall structure, it depends on how much of an impact and how much you are structured as an organisation, so, if you look at Rangers, we know they have a lot of executive directors and it’s a big pool of people, so you could argue it’s less of an impact for Rangers in the medium to long term as they have other people to step in and support.

“So, it will have a short-term impact, but operationally given their structure, they won’t see a lot change day-to-day, and it’s always about how you manage that change under the fact that you have another game to play and business still has to get done.”

There has been a lot of attention on Giovanni van Bronckhorst in recent weeks, and Ross Wilson as some fans start to call for their departures.

It could be their lucky month though with a few high-profile exits behind the scenes potentially taking the spotlight away from them with other developments taking centre stage.

Changes are taking place behind the scenes right now, and it is unknown if that will bring big changes – time will tell.
