Confirmed Rangers starting line-up v Motherwell: Fashion Sakala axed
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has named a strong Rangers starting line-up to face Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday (16 October).
The Gers are heading into this game on the back of a humiliating 7-1 defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League, and they need to bounce back to winning ways.
Via Twitter, the Bears have shared the playing eleven for this game.
Van Bronckhorst has made three changes from the side that lost against Liverpool. Leon King, Rabi Matondo and Malik Tillman starts, in place of Conor Goldson, Ryan Jack and Fashion Sakala.
Both Goldson and Jack are out injured, but it was surprising to see Sakala, who was superb against St Mirren and looked in good form, was axed from the starting line-up.
Three points
The omission of Sakala is really surprising. He started in the previous game against Liverpool, and did really well against St Mirren as well.
The Gers were brilliant in their first half against Liverpool and kept it 1-1 at the break.
However, they dramatically collapsed in the second half, and they allowed the Reds to dominate them.
With that result, they have been knocked out of the Champions League. To be fair, nobody expected them to move to the knockout rounds, considering the teams they were up against.

However, the Champions League results have shown that Rangers need more quality in their ranks to compete against the big boys of Europe.
There have been suggestions about whether Van Bronckhorst should get the sack. That is out of the question, but if the Gers fail to win the Premiership, then surely a big decision need to be taken.
Right now, all focus should be on getting three points at Fir Park. The Gers have managed 4-0 wins against both Hearts and St Mirren, but this one expects to be a tight contest.
